Isaiah 28

Today’s Passage: Isaiah 28

In today’s text God’s holiness and God’s grace are on full display. To be holy means to be separate, to be righteous. To be gracious is to give someone what they don’t deserve.

We see God’s holiness through His pronounced judgment on Ephraim and Jerusalem. Because God is holy, God is just. He cannot let evil go unchecked or unpunished. God is holy. God is just.

Galatians 6:7 reminds us that what we sow, we reap. God is not mocked. It's passages like this that should motivate us to look at our own lives and evaluate who we are. We should ask God to search our hearts like David did in the Psalms.

Because God is holy. We are holy (in Him - 2 Corinthians 5:21). We should live out our holiness (1 Peter 1:14-19).

We see God’s grace in verse 16...

Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation
in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation:
‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’

Even in the midst of all the evil in the world, God provides a way of escape through Jesus. He is the cornerstone. He is the firm foundation. When we believe in and receive Him we are:

●   Forgiven.
●   Empowered.
●   Made Alive.
●   Made Holy.
●   Made Right with God.

Just to name a few things. WOW! That should stir us to live even more for Jesus. We obey Him because He loves us. Find hope in this today!
