Letter from Pastor Drew
Center Point Faith Family,
As we prepare to close out 2024, I’m reflecting on all that God has done in us, among us, and through us. His faithfulness and provision over CPC has left me both in awe and incredibly humbled to serve as one of your pastors. Your continued pursuit of the glory of God and the mission set before us to take everyone we meet one step closer to becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ is nothing short of extraordinary.
A few things in particular have been a joy to participate in and to behold in 2024, namely Committed and TRACKS. As you have certainly noticed, God is growing our church and as He does, we have felt the space squeeze in practically every area. From the parking lot, to Kids Ministry and Student Ministry spaces, to even the front rows of the worship center becoming more frequently occupied; you are living out the mission and people’s lives are changing through the gospel of Jesus.
I’ve watched you be committed to our mission, to our city, and to our future.
This year, we launched the Committed giving campaign with the intention to secure a permanent future space to meet the growth needs. With God as your trust and provider, you have generously pledged and given towards this endeavor and we are now patiently waiting on God to open the door to find this new space. I know He can, and I know He will in His time. In the meantime, let’s continue to pray together in hope that God will accomplish all that He has planned for CPC. One of my favorite parts is that while we are committed to our future, your regular giving has continued to increase too! And to top it all off, you exceeded the Missions Month giving goal as well. I’m so proud to be a part of a healthy, sacrificial church. In times when it would be easy to neglect your giving, you’ve only dug your heels in more to ensure that the ministry of CPC thrives and marches forward.
Since there are so many faithful and gifted people in our church, we took seriously the call of Ephesians 4:12 to “equip the saints for the work of ministry”, leading us to launch a new leadership pipeline called TRACKS. I know we have people that God is raising up to vocational ministry, to the international mission field, to higher levels of leadership within CPC, and to grow in their theological understanding. TRACKS is serving the purpose of taking them one step closer to the call God has placed on them, and it’s exciting to see each person take that next step. I look forward to involving more of you in this pipeline and pouring into your spiritual health as you seek to honor God with your gifts. He is using so many of you in innumerable ways. A great but bittersweet joy of mine is to see some of you move on to places of ministry outside of Center Point where kingdom impact will be made. That’s the Church!
As we press on into 2025, let me restate some important distinctions about CPC: we are committed to evangelism, to discipleship, and to biblical community. These mandates from the Scriptures will always serve as the backbone of our DNA. Whether we continue to grow or even if we decline, we will not stop sharing the gospel and making disciples. We’ve been doing that for over 19 years and, Lord willing, we will do it for another 19+.
I’ll leave you with a word from the Apostle Paul which reflects my heart, both as your pastor and as a follower of Jesus when he says this in Ephesians 3:20-21:
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations.”
Thanks for trusting us with your 2024, CPC. You are loved, and you are sent!
Blessings,
