Revelation 22:1-5

Today’s Passage: Revelation 22:1-5
The river of life flows from the throne of God and the Lamb. The water is pure and bright, flowing through the middle of the city and next to the tree of life.
From this description there is no doubt that this New Creation is flourishing. In every season the tree produces fruit, there is plenty. The nations are healed and the curse of sin has been destroyed forever.
At this point, we will fully see His face and we will fully bear His name. This is a picture of creation returning to God’s original intent, to His good design.
As I imagine the river and the tree of life, I can not help but be reminded of Psalm 1:1-3.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”
Today, we look forward to the day when God will redeem His creation in the Revelation 22 kind of way. God has promised us that there will be a day when the curse of sin and darkness will be no more.
Rejoice in that!
But God has also promised us that today, when we delight in His word, He will sustain us. He promises us living water that will heal and satisfy our weary souls even now as we are surrounded by wickedness.
What is one verse from our passage today that gives you hope? How will you meditate on and trust God’s word today?

I love and long for everything about heaven but the things I love most in these verses is there will be no more curse and no more darkness. The Lord God will be our light and we will worship Him forever.
