Revelation 12

Today's Passage: Revelation 12

It is true that Revelation can be a challenging book to understand at times, especially with its metaphors and imagery. But once properly understood, the promises that it carries is rich in hope.

As we live in a sinful and broken world, the future promises of Christ’s victory should serve as food to our weary souls.

10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Revelation 12:10-11

What encouragements can we take from these two verses?

1. Christ’s victory overcomes the enemy.
Salvation and authority are Christ’s. He purchased them on the cross.

Because of Christ, the accusations of the enemy are nothing more than mere whispers.

2. Christ’s victory becomes our victory.
Salvation and authority are Christ’s, not ours.

We did nothing to deserve it. We did nothing to earn it.

But it doesn’t matter. God, in his grace, has chosen to apply Christ’s victory to those who repent and believe in the gospel.

God has given you victory in Christ. One way to have hope in the everyday is to reflect on this victory that God has given to you freely in Christ.
