Psalm 92

Today's Passage: Psalm 92

Psalm 1 sets the tone for the entire Psalter, and Psalm 92 in many ways is a different way to say similar things.

God is exalted in verses 1-5, and with His exaltation also comes what it looks like to properly respond to the greatness of God — primarily through thankfulness and praise.

Then verses 6-9 and versed 10-15 run parallel to one another, with verses 6-9 showing the foolishness of living in sin and wickedness, and verses 10-15 showing the benefits of living in a way that honors God, even referencing righteous living as being similar to the flourishing of a tree (92:12; 1:3).

The point: never outgrow your desire to live a life that is honoring to the Lord. The more you grow in Christ, in fact, the more you should be realizing how much you are falling short.

Spend some time today, asking for God to renew your commitment to honor the Lord in all things, at all times.
