Psalm 76
Today's Passage: Psalm 76
God’s name has been heard throughout Judah, Israel, Salem, and Zion. His name speaks for itself. He is known as a great king, and the greatness of His name could lead us to quickly assume that He is out of reach.
But in an incredible act of grace, God has made himself known to us. He has revealed himself throughout history through His word.
At the sound of His rebuke, armies stop in their tracks and the earth stands still, so how is it that we can stand before him?
We should be prompted to awe at who God is. He really is powerful and holy, but He is not idle. He has righteously and kindly chosen to act.
He arose to bring salvation. Jesus, God in the flesh left His throne in heaven to come to earth. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and is now once again sitting on the throne. He did this so that all who humble themselves before the Lord will be saved.
To this salvation, we are moved to respond in praise. Where once we strived to earn what we thought we deserved, we can now confidently worship God because He has taken on what we truly deserve.
