Esther 4

Today's Passage: Esther 4

Mordecai is asking Esther to risk her life, her status, and her reputation in order to save her people from Haman. Sometimes in the Christian life, the right things to do are clear to see, but difficult to do.

In Esther's case, she knew she should approach the king, but knew it could very well cost her her life. In our case, we may know we should speak up for what's right, and tell the truth, even if it keeps us from that promotion or costs us a sale. Thankfully today we are not faced with such dire situations as Esther was, but there are Christians worldwide who still are. In every situation, we can trust three things.

  1. Christ has gone first. He lived perfectly and it cost Him his life. But he was crucified on a cross so that death would have no claim on us. We have victory through the cross, so we must honor our Lord no matter the circumstance.
  2. Christ holds the reigns. God is in control and we can trust Him with the outcome. If that is true, then it is far better for us to honor God rather than deny God with our actions.
  3. Christ is working all things for our good and His glory. Even if we lose out on something in this world because of our faith - we can trust that the reward in Heaven will be FAR greater. Esther's bold faith is rewarded by God and saves the Jewish people. God may use your boldness, your faith, and your witness, to do incredible things for His Kingdom.
