Esther 2

Today's Passage: Esther 2
Esther 2 is starts with King Ahasuerus looking for a new queen to replace Vashti. Mordecai, who was a Jew from the tribe of Benjamin, was taking care of Esther for her parents were not around. The King issues an edict to find himself a new queen and Esther was one of the women taken. Esther ends up finding favor amongst the King and he makes her his queen. After this, Mordecai hears of a conspiracy of people who want to kill King Ahasuerus. Mordecai then tells Esther and Esther is able to tell the King so that he is not killed.
After reading Esther 2 and reading the summary, you might be wondering how Esther 2 applies to your life. Well, I think the major thing to see is that God is working out everything according to His plan. Esther is a Jew, which means this is uncommon for her to be queen of this land. This is one reason why Mordecai told her not to make known her people or kindred. But ultimately, the Jews are saved because Esther is queen (you will read about that later). Secondly, if Esther is not queen then Mordecai has no way of getting the news of the attempted assassination to the King. All of this shows God’s plan is working. Esther is going to be able to save her people, and she has already found favor in the sight of the King because she was able to save his life.
Esther, as a Jew, was in Persia instead of Israel where she should have been. She might have thought that God did not have a plan for her, but ultimately God did. You may be in a place in your life that may seem chaotic, but I assure you that God is working out His plan for your life. God is never mentioned in the book of Esther but that doesn’t mean He is not providentially working all things out according to His plan. So take heart and be assured that God is in control.
