Matthew 25:14-46

Today’s Passage: Matthew 25:14-26

Do you see your life as stewardship and investment? Or is that only for the people who are really gifted, really resourced, really talented? I think there is a temptation for us as followers of Jesus to see other people’s lives as more of a stewardship than our own. We don’t think we can do much. We think others can do much more.

Don’t miss this... YOUR LIFE IS STEWARDSHIP.

Stewardship means to take care of something that doesn’t belong to you.

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. // 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Not only do our lives not belong to us but God has entrusted to us things:

● Influence.
● Money.
● Gifts/Talents.
● Skills.
● Material things.
● And most importantly, the gospel.

Think about that! God has ENTRUSTED you! Whether He has given you “10 talents” or “1 talent” - God has entrusted you. We compare ourselves to others instead of stewarding what we have been given far too much. The body is made up of many parts (1 Corinthians 12) coming together as a whole.

We have to remember:

● Our life is not ours.
● Don’t compare our entrustment to others.
● Be faithful.
● Steward and invest well.
● Do something with what you have been given.

For what? For the gospel! We are all on God’s team to advance His mission. We all have a role and a part to play. Let’s play it well... taking everyone we meet one step closer to becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
