John 4:43-54

Today's Passage: John 4:43-54
We’ve started sing a song at CPC called Take You at Your Word. The chorus of the song goes, “I’ll take you at your word – If you said it, I’ll believe it – I’ve seen how good it works – If you start it, You’ll complete it – I’ll take you at your word.”
The song is super good, but it does beg the question: Do we actually believe God at His word?
The dad in our story did. Can you put yourself in his shoes for a moment? This is the biggest ask of his life: his son to not die. I can imagine the tears he shed watching his son on the verge of death. He had gone to the doctors to no avail. He was nearing the end. Then, he goes to Jesus, and he asks what any father would, “Will you heal my son?” Jesus says 7 words, “Go back home; your son will live.” There was no diagnosis, prescription given, people to go with him, just the words of Jesus. And the father believed in the words of Jesus.
Jesus’ words bring life. They bring unwavering confidence. They bring value. They bring hope. They bring love. They bring mercy. They bring more than I could ever list here.
My questions for you: Do you take God at His word? Do you believe that what He says He is going to do? Are you hesitant when the Spirit prompts you to do something?
