Acts 28

Today's Passage: Acts 28
As we close the book of Acts, Paul finally gets to Rome. He had desired to be in Rome with the believers there for awhile (Romans 1:9-15). He comes to Rome as a prisoner when he made his appeal to Caesar.
I am writing this having just come back from Rome. While there, Ally and I were able to visit the prison where Paul would have spent his time in Rome. I have included a picture of it below. It is basically a hole in the ground. In the top of the picture, you can see a hole. They used this as a way to lower the prisoners in and out of the hole. But standing in there, I think it was about 15 feet wide and was 8 feet tall. Most of our bedrooms have more space than it.
But here is what I love about Paul, despite his circumstance, he lived on mission: He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hinderance.
He was committed to living for Jesus and making His glory known, no matter what. Even in the most difficult situations, Paul was not worried. He never compromised on his faith. He was steadfast and content in who Jesus is and what Jesus called him to do.
What is holding you back from surrendering all to Jesus? What is hindering you from spreading the message of salvation to the lost world around you?

Wow! You read about these places in the Bible! But to actually see the place for yourself. . . It makes the Bible come alive! These were real people. Paul being imprisoned still spread the Gospel!
