Acts 27

Today’s Passage: Acts 27
Here’s a big takeaway from Acts 27: you can be in the middle of the will of God for your life, and still experience suffering and trials.
Paul says in verse 23, “23 For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, 24 and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ 25 So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told. 26 But we must run aground on some island.”
Paul had a better understanding of God’s purpose and plans for his life than many of us do. And at the same time, his life was marked by struggle and hardship.
This should be a point of encouragement for us: when we face struggle and suffering in life, how do we respond to it? Do we draw close to God or push ourselves away from him?

The voyage to Rome (which probably began in the autumn of A.D. 59) is given in great detail and with remarkable exactness, consistent with what is otherwise known about sea travel in that time and place. The keynote of the story is God’s providence, especially in preserving Paul for his Roman testimony. At a literary level the story is told to indicate how far and difficult the journey to Rome is, as the gospel heads toward the ends of the earth. ESV Study Bible

God is always with us, even in the difficult times! Paul literally went through trials and tribulations. But he kept the faith and trusted in Jesus! A great blog message!
