Acts 22:1-21

Today's Passage: Acts 22:1-21

Stories are powerful. My grandfather-in-law is one of the best storytellers you could ever meet. He can leave you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. He got lost at sea with his brother one time and a submarine ended up finding them. You think I’m joking… I am not.

We’ve all experienced moments like this, either from someone telling a story, a movie we watched, or a book we’ve read. Stories can be captivating. They can leave us wanting more.

And I think this is what the people experienced with Paul in Acts 22. As we will see tomorrow, they do not love how his story ends. But in the midst of him retelling his conversion (which happened in Acts 9), people are listening. They are focused on the details of how God changed his life.

Our testimonies are powerful tools. And when I say testimony, I mean our life before Jesus, when we came into a relationship with Jesus, and how He changed our lives since. I know for me personally, I used to not think my testimony was powerful. I came into a relationship with Jesus when I was 7. There wasn’t a radical transformation. I hadn’t done anything too sinful up to that point. But one day I realized that my testimony really isn’t about myself. My testimony is about God and His redemptive work.

Any time God changes a dead heart into an alive one – that’s powerful. You might not have some big life change story like me, but that doesn’t mean God can’t use your story in the life of someone else. Whenever God allows someone to go from death to life, it’s a big deal!

My encouragement: share your story of coming into a relationship with Jesus! It’s by God’s grace that you have experienced this and it’s by His grace that you get to share it.
