Acts 16:11-40

Today’s Passage: Acts 16:11-40
Here we read the amazing story of two very different yet beautiful conversions to Jesus Christ. We read about Lydia who was a “worshiper of God” and we read about the Philippian Jailer who worked for the government.
God showed up powerfully in both circumstances. God has called us and commanded us to be witnesses to the world. To fulfill the great commission of reaching people with the gospel.
What do we learn from Acts 16 about what this looks like?
There were needy people. By needy I mean lost. They didn’t have saving faith in Jesus Christ. Both needed to hear what Jesus had accomplished. One was “around things of God” and one wasn’t. It didn’t matter. They needed the same thing.
This is what people in our lives need. They need to hear about Jesus. We are around a bunch of needy people.
While we respond to God… He pursues us. God pursued Lydia and the Philippian jailer and God is working in those around us. He is pursuing. Praise God for God’s Pursuit.
In each of these stories there are faithful witnesses. They…
This is what we are called to be… Faithful Witnesses.
In each of these circumstances the people repented (turned from) and believed in Jesus. This is what we are inviting people into. We cannot save them but we can share with them.
Keep sharing.
Keep inviting.
Keep telling people about Jesus.
Make a list right now of 3 people to pray for by name each day.

1) NEEDY PEOPLE.
2) GOD’S PURSUIT.
While we respond to God… He pursues us. God pursued Lydia and the Philippian jailer and God is working in those around us. He is pursuing. Praise God for God’s Pursuit.
3) FAITHFUL WITNESSES.
In each of these stories there are faithful witnesses. They…
● Have eyes to see those around them.
● Have the boldness to tell them about Jesus.
● Invite them into a relationship with Jesus.
This is what we are called to be… Faithful Witnesses.
4) REPENTANCE & BELIEF.
