Exodus 12:23-51

Today's Passage: Exodus 12:23-51

There is so much that we could unpack in this, let’s hit some highlights:

1. We serve a glorious God!

After reading these verses, I can’t help but to praise God for His character and provision. He is powerful. He is omnipresent. He is holy. He extends grace. He brings righteous judgment. He is so much more than we can comprehend, and yet He still wants a relationship with us! We are undeserving, yet He finds us valuable.

2. We have a command to tell the coming generations of the faithfulness of God. (v. 24-27)

If you are a parent, Scripture has made it abundantly clear that you are to tell and show your kids who God is (v. 24-27, Deuteronomy 6, Ephesians 6:4). But even if you are not a parent, you have this command to train up the next generation as well (Titus 2:1-8).

3. God keeps His promises. (v. 40-42)

God promised the people of Israel the land of Canaan. They spent 430 years in Egypt; waiting and longing for the day to enter the Promised Land. There were probably people thinking that God had forgotten them. He hadn’t. His timing was perfect. Even now, God has promised things we are now longing for. He hasn’t forgotten His promises. He will bring them to fulfillment at His ordained time.

What characteristic of God do you see in these verses?
