Let’s make sure that we take God both seriously and joyously. We should be diligent to have a pure heart before God. We should be diligent to keep a God-centered perspective over all of our lives. But this God-centeredness does not lead to despair, it leads to joy!
This is living out God’s design for your life. “Things work better when you do them God’s way.”
Pray and ask God to grow you in keeping Him the center of your thoughts and desires. This is a prayer he loves to answer!

Verses 1-7
- Be careful with your heart and your words before God.
- Take prayer seriously.
- Take how you speak to others seriously.
- Take how you speak to yourself seriously.
- Make sure your words match up to your actions.
Verses 8-20
- Money (insert any created thing) will not satisfy you.
- Chasing after earthly things will bring ultimate disappointment because they don’t matter in eternity.
- Invest in things that are eternal.
- The goal is that God would keep us preoccupied with joy in our hearts; that we would keep a God-centered perspective in every aspect of our lives.
