Romans 8:1-30

Today's Passage: Romans 8:1-30
I know in my previous Jumpstart post I said that Romans is my favorite book of the Bible… Well Romans 8 is my favorite chapter in my favorite book of the entire Bible. This chapter starts with showing that Christ accomplished what the law couldn’t! It explains that the “secret” to living a righteous life is living by the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot please God without living by the Spirit.
Because of Christ’s sacrifice and the Holy Spirit inside of us, we are adopted as sons and daughters of God. Isn’t verse 18 one of the most shocking verses you’ve ever read?
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
The understanding of not only personal suffering but global suffering is incredible. Suffering in this life is inevitable because of the brokenness of the world. Even those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and consistently walking in obedience will go through hard things. But even though we will go through suffering, it won’t ultimately matter because we will get to be with God for eternity! This is all temporary, we should be anxiously awaiting the return of Christ and for our glorification.
Because we know that God loves us and wants what is best for us, we can trust that even the hard things are for our good and for His glory. Bringing God glory is our purpose on this earth!

Romans 8 is a wonderful chapter! This passage explains the Gospel so well!
I don't know why, but I haven't been able to post a comment for months! I try everyday and it just jumps back to the original post. But today it worked!!! And I'm so happy, because I loved this post Kaitlyn. Although I like the parts about the Spirit groaning through us and the would groaning for deliverance (cause believe me, I feel all the groaning) my favorite part is "all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose." This sustains me through a lot.
