Romans 3:21-31

Today's Passage: Romans 3:21-31
There is so much meat to this text that it is impossible to cover in a Jumpstart. What I want for you this morning is to slow down and meditate on this passage. Spend time thinking through each thought and idea.
Read verses 21+22 - What does it mean for the righteousness of God to be “manifested?”
Read verse 23 - We have all most likely heard this verse before, but pause and reflect on this truth. Take some time and confess the ways you’ve fallen short to the Lord.
Read verses 24+25 - You no longer have to carry guilt or shame for the sins you just confessed! Reflect on how this is possible based on v24-25.
Read verse 26 - This verse is key to understanding Justification. Christ HAD to suffer and die for our sins. God is perfectly Just. And justice demands that sin be punished. A judge would disqualify himself if he let a guilty murderer go free with no punishment - so God would disqualify himself from being God if he ignored our sin. That being said, meditate on this verse “so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
Read verses 27+28 - Are there areas of your life where you still try to earn your righteousness before God? (We all struggle with this) Bring it before the Lord.
Read verses 29+31 - These verses are kind of confusing, what do these verses mean? Who can have righteousness through faith? What does it mean to uphold the Law even though we are saved by faith?
