Psalm 32

Today’s Passage: Psalm 32
Have you ever been forgiven by someone in a way that blew you away? We often take forgiveness for granted, both from God and others. Forgiveness is very easy to receive and very hard to give.
This Psalm is giving us some principles about forgiveness and how we look to God in it.
1) FORGIVENESS IS A BLESSING (v.1-2)
“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.”
Never forget, if you have come into a relationship with God through Jesus you have been COMPLETELY and TOTALLY forgiven by Jesus. Your sin is covered. Don’t live in shame. Live in victory. Live for Him!
2) FORGIVENESS STARTS WITH REPENTANCE (v.3-5)
Repentance means to turn from our sin and trusting in ourselves to God and trusting in Him and His ways. This happens at salvation and it happens continuously throughout life. Forgiveness is not an excuse to live however we want but should motivate our life for Jesus.
3) FORGIVENESS SHOULD LEAD TO A GODLY LIFE (v.6-11)
When we realize all that we have been forgiven from, how can we not live our life for God? He didn’t just forgive us. He became our closest friend. He rescued us from eternal separation from Him.
When we understand grace it should motivate us to trust Him more! To love Him more! To follow Him more! Check out Romans 6:1-2…
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?”
You have been forgiven in Jesus! Don’t forget it! Live from it!
