Psalm 26

Today’s Passage: Psalm 26

The main thing that sticks out to me in Psalm 26 is the way David describes himself and his character. He uses the word integrity.

There are many different definitions describing integrity but I like the definition of moral uprightness. To live with integrity means that you have character and follow God whether people are watching or not; in your front stage or your backstage.

David describes his integrity and gives us some things to think about. Are these true in my life?

  • Trusting in God unwaveringly (v.1)
  • Faithfulness (v.3)
  • Did not engage in sin with the crowd (v.4-5)
  • Innocent (v.6)
  • Worshipful (v.6b)
  • Thankful (v.7a)
  • Proclaiming God (v.7b)
  • Loves God’s presence (v.8)

David, because of integrity, trusted God with the circumstances that he was faced with (v.1). He asked God to test him (v.2). But decided that regardless of what happened that he would continue to walk in integrity (v.11).

WOW! What a reminder. We don’t walk in integrity to get things or to hold it over God’s head but because God is LORD (v.12).

How did God speak to you today? How would you describe integrity?
