1 Corinthians 7
August Memory Verse: So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
Read: 1 Corinthians 7
Today’s passage has a lot to offer when it comes to marriage, singleness, and much more. But a verse that sticks out to me the most is verse 17. Here is what it says…
“Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.”
Here Paul reminds us of a very important truth… GROW WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED.
Grow where you are planted. So often we are so focused on what is next that we don’t grow where we are and life just passes us by. God has brought us to each individual season for a reason and a purpose. He brought us there for our good and our growth.
Why do we struggle with this? DISCONTENTMENT.
Most of our lives are marked by discontentment more than contentment. It is no wonder we struggle to live out verse 17. We think God is holding out on us. He is not. He is a good Father who gives good gifts to His children.
When we fight to be content and to grow where we are planted we will be shocked where God will take us and how He will use us.

- Are you a student? Grow.
- Are you in your career? Grow.

This is so good Nick! I have been waiting to hear when I start my internship for this fall at my practicum. I keep wondering what I did wrong and why it's taking so long, but this is so true! I need to be content in where I am right now and look for opportunities that otherwise wouldn't have!

This was such an encouragement this morning! As I go into my senior year of college, it can be so easy to just wish it away, or wonder what my next step is in my future. I am so worried about the next thing, that I don't focus on the present and how I can grow here and now. Verse 17 was such a great reminder to live the life the Lord has given to me right now!

This was exactly what I needed to hear this morning! As I enter into a new stage of life-marriage- I need to learn to be content wherever God has me!
