"in Him, all things hold together..." (v.17) I understand that this verse is zeroed in on creation, the universe, life, and the careful balance that needs to be maintained for all that to work out and continue. I really get that...

Sometimes I look at my life, and have to remember He's holding it together too. Sure, the waves are high and sometimes violent...but He's the Captain. He's the Ark. He has first place in everything in my life, He sustains me, and I am trusting Him for life and family and every circumstance.

We tend to compartmentalize God, and only want Him to be over our lives on Sundays, or when we are going through trials, but then forget Him the rest of the week, or in the good times. I like how you pointed out that God is not just to be over some parts of our lives, but our lives should be encompassed by Him. He should be the (wait for it) Center Point of our lives. If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure this passage is where Center Point gets our name (correct me if I'm wrong, Tim). This passage is so important in understanding who Christ is. It gives even more evidence that Jesus is who he said he was. He is God in flesh (the image of the invisible God). Without Jesus coming down to us, we wouldn't have a way to God. Thankful for that truth today!

That’s right Scottie! Haha

One overriding truth in this chapter is the supremacy of Christ.

Something to ponder: "This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven...."

Jesus is the image of God in a body. The fact that the Holy Spirit (the member of the Trinity) dwell within us is powerful. I am looking forward to the rest of the Bible study about Colossians!
