Very powerful message, Tyler. I find myself jolted this morning to remember the awesomeness of Jesus. Thank you for that reminder.

This is a fantastic passage to open up next time a Jehovah's Witness is at your door

I'm sure they'll have a response. But you're right, it's hard to dismiss the weight of all that points to the authentic Jesus in the Old and New Testaments.

"This is not a two way street"

What a beautiful reminder of God's initiative in everything. Everything good that we have can be traced back to God taking initiative in His grace.

Also, when I struggle with adoration of God, verse 3 offers a simple solution. Go back to the gospels, see what Jesus has done to see who He is, and you have the character of God.

Thanks Tyler!

Really thankful for the reminder that the/a son always has access to the father. He wants to know us and see us and be with us because we are sons.

Thank you, Megan!

If you haven't read or listened to Timmy or even Matt Chandler's message on it, I highly recommend.

Thanks for this, Tyler. I liked the example of Lincoln’s son and the access he has to him. Beautiful picture of Jesus painted here and I appreciate that you mentioned how the angels came and spoke FOR God... but Jesus- well, he spoke AS God. I’m reflecting today on who Jesus is and how he remains the same forever and ever.

Tyler Short - February 11th, 2021 at 2:51pm

Good word, Holly. Thank you!

I like that you pointed out the difference between the prophets/angels and Jesus: the prophets/angles spoke for God, as messengers, but Jesus spoke as God, who came to Earth in the flesh. This is a great way to debunk the theory of so many religions that Jesus was just a good man, or just a prophet. Everything He said was as God, not just someone who was inspired by God. Without this knowledge, we could easily fall into wrong beliefs about the deity of Jesus. Thankful for this reminder today as it reinforces our faith in who Jesus is and what He did for us, and why we can put our trust in the saving work of the cross!
