FIRST SESSION OPTIONS
A. Understanding Generation Alpha, Brice Stockton
Every generation has unique characteristics and commonalities. Generation Alpha is no different. The Alpha Generation are children 14 years old and younger (born 2010-present). They have never known a world without smartphones, flatscreens, and developing digital technology like artificial intelligence. What does it take to raise Gen A children to know and love Jesus in a rapidly-transforming world? Come to our session as we discuss cultural trends and much more as we seek to understand the world our children experience every day so that we can learn how to keep Jesus at the center of it all.
B. Christian Working Moms: Balancing Work, Faith, and Motherhood, Ashley Steelman
Christian working moms face unique challenges in harmonizing the demands of their professional careers, nurturing their spiritual lives, and fulfilling their roles as mothers. Pursuing balance requires intentional planning and support. Join us as we explore the unique challenges of Christian working moms and provide practical strategies to seamlessly integrate faith into daily routines and the workplace. Additionally, we will discuss ways to maintain a healthy work-life balance, emphasizing the importance of extending grace to ourselves in the process.
C. Loving My Imperfect Life, Kelly HoGUe
2nd Corinthians tells us that Christ’s power is made perfect in our weakness and imperfections. Women struggle with comparing themselves to others looking like we have it all together in appearance, home, parenting, marriage, etc. Come with me on the constant journey of recognizing that, although I have nothing to offer, Christ has everything to offer in and through me. Instead of the discouraging strive for perfection, we’ll learn to love our imperfect lives.
D. How to Study The Bible, Kaitlin White
The Bible is God’s self-revealing, breathed-out Word through which we may know and have a relationship with the Creator of the universe. Through Scripture, God speaks to His people for His glory and for our good. He reveals His character, ways, and purposes. God’s children are sanctified into the image of Christ, equipped for life and godliness. Although many people believe these promises about the Bible, many fewer know how to read and study for themselves. Join us as we learn how to study the Bible. Whether you’re new to personal Bible study or a veteran, you’ll find useful tips and resources to help you take your time in the Word to the next level.
E. Parenting the Child God Gave You, Jessica Weaver
Every child is different—uniquely designed by God. Among the many challenges moms face, one of the most significant is nurturing our children's unique personalities and gifts as they develop. Thankfully, we're not on this journey alone. Join us to discover how God leads us in fostering our children's gifts. We will be discussing practical ways to celebrate each child’s uniqueness as we help them learn and grow.
SECOND SESSION OPTIONS
A. What I’ve Learned From 40-Years of Marriage, Mike Pepper
If you saw that title in a bookstore, it would probably be a thick book filled with blank pages. To the world, marriage is a joke. To God, marriage is a sacred, sanctifying union between a man and a woman. Although many great books on marriage exist, none has impacted our marriage as much as Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerich. Join us to discuss some of the secrets we’ve learned about the love women desire and the respect men crave.
B. Discipling the Heart of Your Little One, Angie Fraley
Nurturing a child’s heart is one of life’s greatest privileges. God’s Word shows us that transformed hearts lead to transformed lives. This truth not only impacts our own spiritual walk, but shapes family discipleship. Angie Frahley is the Preschool Children’s Supervisor at a Lexington Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Class and has extensive training and experience in this area. Come learn that it’s never too early to start teaching children to love God and love others.
C. The Jesus Model: The Three B’s of Conversational Evangelism, Steven and Claire Thompson
Conversations are a regular part of our lives. So why do we find conversations centered on evangelism so awkward or intimidating? It doesn’t have to be. Come see how you can take the gospel to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers through everyday conversations. Conversational evangelism isn’t awkward or scary. It’s about loving people where they are and introducing them to Jesus.
D. Stewarding God’s Money, Daniel White
Hosting the Kingdom Investor Podcast, Daniel has had a front-row seat to the radical generosity of some of the most successful kingdom investors in the country. Join us to hear the stories of three leading kingdom investors and how their stories should challenge our perspectives on stewardship. What we’ll discuss is that our perspective on our resources will determine how those resources are used.
E. What’s Love Got To Do With It? Kris Howard
The world longs for a heart-level connection with others. The word “love” gets tossed around in a variety of ways both inside and outside the Church. Yet, how do these common understandings of “love” align with God’s intended purpose to love him and love others? In a world craving “love,” the Church has an opportunity. However, all too often, the Church gets it wrong in how we teach, preach, and even seek love. Jesus said our love is how the world will know that we are his—but sometimes that image gets skewed. Join us as we seek a right-understanding that leads to a right-practice of biblical love. Also, we’ll examine how misunderstandings can lead to losing an opportunity with those the Church could be reaching with the Gospel.
